In a recent post I shared that diversity is a top priority for me as the founder and CEO of See Body. Love Self. The need for a healthy and loving Body Relationship is not exclusive to any particular body type, culture, social group, or even gender. Body image and self love is something that all types of people are challenged by. The more I interact and converse with people about the topic, the more I see how unique and diverse the body image experience is across the globe. That is why I am very excited to be able to share The Male Experience with Body Image, contributed by Marc Applewhite. Body image is definitely tends to be a female focused topic, and the voice of the male perspective on body image and self love is often not taken into consideration. It is quite possible that most of us have even forgotten the feelings and thoughts of men on this topic. I truly believe that in order to heal the pain in our society, around body hate and self hate, we cannot exclude the experience of a person based on their gender, race, culture, or body type. Leaning in to the male voice on this topic is an integral part of the healing process too. I have great respect for Marc for the candid and vulnerable share of his body image experience and perspective, in this video. Give your ear and an open mind to the words that he shares. Then see how it resonates with you and share your replies, questions, and feelings with us in the comments below. We’d love to hear from you!
