The pressure to have a “perfect” body comes from so many sources. Throughout our lives we are fed messages from media and society. However, body image expectations can come from intimate relationships too, including family and friends. When I invited Nida Tanna to be a part of The Captured Freedom experience she was eager to participate and tell her story. She explained that the body image expectations from her culture and family were a major part of her body journey that she wanted to share. Body image is so complex, that it is beneficial to look at the topic from several different perspectives. So, I was elated that Nida was willing to share her story to educate, empower, and encourage others. Listen and be open to be inspired.
